Discs arrived this morning in mint condition.
Both Burnt on the following system
2 GHZ Athlon
512Mb DDR RAM
pioneer 105 FW 1.21
prassi primo 2.0
Disc one:-
DVD movie backup direct from Harddrive
Size 4,421.60MB , 2 folders , 10 files
15 min burn as expected for 4X
Played on both acoustic solution and pacific standalone players.
good playback and chapter search./FFWD with no hang-ups on either player
Then tried on X-Box version 1 good results again.Plays well and no problem in FFWD/reverse or chapter skip
Finally tried on my X-Box version 1.1. Let down this time . Jerky play in parts and intermittent lock up on chapter skip/FFWD.Havn't used this X-Box much for dvd play so can't definitley say its the disc .Possibly the x-box laser ?
Overall quite happy with this disc but some doubt over dvd play on X-Box.
Disc two:-
X-Box backup disc 2 disc copy via HDD
4,148.75MB (Biggest game i could find)
14 minute burn @ 4X
Plays faultlessly on both version 1 and 1.1 models.
Pre Game FMV plays smooth with no problem whatsoever
Well pleased with the result of this disc
Almost convinced to buy some of these. Only thing stopping me is the prob with the dvd play in the 1.1 X-Box. Will wait and read some more review postings before investing . The Purple gen3 r2 Bulkpaqs are an excellent budget disc and hopefully this 4x bulkpaq will be the same
Thanx for allowing me to take part in this review
Cheers for now

First impression of the disc is that it looks pretty OK, I am not a fan of orange, but it's a hell of a lot better than those Datawrite Yellows... Anyways, on to the important bits.
Dye looked nice and even throughout both my samples and appears to be identical to the dye on the ICE White-Top DVD-R that are kicking around just now. The top surface is slightly textured which makes writing on it just that little bit easier to keep your lettering neat and small, which is my only criticism of my current favourite disc (unbranded Ritek G04's).
PC Kit:
MSI KT3V Mobo
Athlon 1900+XP
1 Gig PC2700 DDR
2x 80Gig Samsung HD's in RAID 0
Toshiba SD-M1612 DVD-ROM
Pioneer DVR-105 v1.21 FW
Software:
Stomp Record Now MAX v4.5
DVD Decrypter v3.14
Test "Set-Top":
Sony PS2 (v5)
Burn 1: 4.36Gig Movie only title set - My Big Fat Greek Wedding. Disc burned in 16 minutes in Stomp as usual for me, and had no problems during the burn. The resulting disc plays fine in my PS2 (v5) with nice quick skipping through chapters. It did seem to take a bit longer (than the same movie on a Ritek disc) to actually start playing after I closed the tray, but it wasn't ridiculously long like I used to find with earlier Princo dyes (if they played at all!). The whole movie however is rock solid right to the end, with no problems even deep into the credits. Looking good so far for the BulkPaq!
Burn 2: 4.36 Gig Full Movie + Extras Backup - One Hour Photo. Disc burned once again in 16 minutes in Stomp. Same slow takeup in the PS2, slightly longer than Burn 1 above. About 5 seconds slower than Ritek G04. However, the picture was once again rock solid right to the end of the main movie, and skipped between PGC's and from extra to extra in no time at all.
I have to say at the current prices of about £1 per disc I think I will be getting a hundred of these babies, to further test and hopefully save myself money over the Ritek's. All in all a very good first test.
Thanks as always to Disqworld and the sponsors for involving me in the test. _________________ Cheers

This is the first test I have taken part in tests on this forum, thanx for the freebies.
Burned on a Pioneer A05 at 4X using RecordNow Max 4.1
Red Dragon (4.445GB)
Spy Kids 2 (4.270GB)
Both disks burned without a hitch.
Playback was perfect on these machines -
Pioneer A04
LiteOn 165h
Pioneer 444 Standalone
Who'd have thought it, Bulkpaq! Very Impressed.
I have used Bulkpaq like most people when you start on the DVD scene, but the inconsistency of burning and compatability issues steered me clear of them.
If this sort of quality could be maintained I would happily buy some, but if you look on the SVP website they dont exactly get the flags out. They recommend using them for data, here's what they say........
'It is best suited to backing up data.
It can be used for storage video, although we would like customers to note that discs at this end of the market may not be as compatible with the vast range of DVD players as more expensive discs.'
Having said that I will be looking in for more feedback from the mainstream buyers who use a lot and as I said before, will buy some if the quality remains stable.
Once again thanx for the disks.

Recieved my 2 discs this morning.. Thanks Stealth and Bulkpaq.
Equipment used:
Pioneer A103 F/W 2.00
Athlon XP 1700+
256Mb DDR Ram
160 Gb Storage.
My DVD writer has never managed to write on any of the 2X media (even Verbs) so I was keen to see if the would accept 4X G4 media.
The answer was a fairly unsurprising NO..would not burn at either 1 or 2X.
The old power calibration chestnut.
WIth 1X media becoming harder and harder to obtain (especially decent media) it looks like the old Pioneer may soon be doomed to the bin.
Does anyone have any idea why my writer behaves this way and have any idea what might cure the problem?? I would be grateful of any suggestions..
If I can cure this problem, I might be able to be a bit more help than just posting review after review saying simply...Don't work...

Firstly, thanks for including me in the test, Received two disks this morning in a Double CD Jewel case in good condition (although the case was cracked, but that not the reviews, so doesn?t matter ) Very timely as I had to burn disks today, so this came at a perfect time to test the disks. Don't have a 4X burner so I can't test them at 4X. However, I'm sure 2X results will be just as welcome.
Tested using a pioneer 104 with firmware 1.31 (the 2X for all hacked version). Intel P4 2.53Ghx OC'd to 3Ghz, 512MB RAM blah blah. Windows XP and recorded using Stomp RecordNow Max 4.50
Appearance wise and the disks are exactly what you come to expect from Bulkpaq- they are never over adventurous and rarely differ their design. This near-orange disk is perhaps their most daring colour yet, but other than the top surface everything else, including the labelling on the disk remains identical. Underside and a light purple dye, exactly the same looking disks as the V3R2 purple tops.
The first disk I chose to burn was an Xbox game. Decided to burn a copy of Blackstone, which is just under 1GB in size. Popped the disk in, set the record speed to MAX and as expected away it went, happily burnt at 2X. Burnprocess went like a knife through butter and the game was finished in no time at all. No errors, no problems. Testing the game in the Xbox yielded pleasing results:- game booted first time and loaded flawlessly. I would say the load times were at least on par with other Xbox media I have tried : NanYa, Choice 2X, Datasafe Yellowtops and the purple Bulks - in short this is as good as anything I have tried thus far.
The second disk I thought would be a DVD movie. Took my retail copy of Men in Black 2 and re-encoded the first disk from nearly 8GB to 4.32GB. Then burnt this squeezing the lot on to the disk, filling it to the boundaries. This for me is when most disks play up and true to my thoughts, the disk did struggle. Initial impressions were excellent ~ the player (Yamada 2100 fantastic player that will play ANYTHING!) recognised the disk and loaded the menu very quickly, as fast as the retail disk I would say. I skipped to the penultimate chapter and there was a slight sync problem with the video and audio, of about a second or so. Not only that, but every so often (must be about every 10 seconds) the video would appear to jump - very slightly I might add - only a frame or two at most, and nothing that would spoil enjoyment of the film, but it was present. I then tested the same disk in my Sony (dv-735) which again loaded the disk without a problem. Again flew to the menu and this time I checked out the extras:- played fine without problem, but on returning to the film the lip-sync problem was back. Now this may have been a fault on my part during the re-encode and burn process, the only sure way to tell would be to repeat the process on another disk, which I don't have time to do right now
Recently I have been having problems with the quality of DVD Media. The usually reliable datasafe (yellows) have proven unreliable and problematic, getting many duff disks and really have gone off these. As a result I bought some Nanya's and Aladdin disks, both of which seem OK, but I am in the Market for a new 'regular' disk. Unfortunately the minor flaw above and the fact that these are after all Bulks (don't get me wrong, I'm no brand snob, but some are and as soon as you mention the 'B' word they lose interest) means I probably wont be switching to these as my new disk of choice. However, they appear a competent disk if not perfect and I wouldn't hesitate to buy these if there was limited choice. Thus, not my number 1, but I think I would use them again if necessary. Always had good experience with BP's (excluding the first generation disks) and this was just what I come to expect ' not a class A disk, but you get what you pay for. Great for Consoles, not so great for Movie backups. _________________ Any backups are supplied on the understanding that you own the original copy, if you do not, then you must destroy the backup copy as supplied within 24hrs as a sample copy

Received disks this morning in A1 Condition.
I ripped and shrunk HP2.
I put the new disk in the recorder and it hasn't worked since.
Don't think there is any connection with the disks and my recorder packing in. It won't read any disks now. so I am afraid my review will be delayed until I get it fixed or replaces.
I have now bought a Pioneer 105 so here goes the review :-
O/S = XP Pro with SP1
CPU = 2000xp
MEM= 1gb ddr
DVD Reader = Pioneer 116
DVDRW = Pioneer 105 with 2x4all and rip patch firmware (Thanks Grad and Nil appears to be working well)
As I said before I had ripped and shrunk HP2 with DVD shrink1.30. Burned the first disk which was 4.47gb at 4x. Disk was recognised quickly and wrote without fault. Playback was flawless. First impressions is good. Even at the outer rim of the disk there was no stutters.
Disk 2 is also a DVD Movie Chasing Holden. 4.5gb again copied well and playback is spot on. Will keep them in mind when loking for disks.
Thanks for the chance to review again.

First of all a big thanks for letting me test these discs!
Discs arrived in perfect condition.
System spec
Msi kt4 fsir ultra board
athlon xp 2600+
1gb of ddr 2700 ram
Ata 133 120 gb hard disc
pioneer a05 with the new DVR-105 v1.30 - RPC-1 + 2xDVD-R + 12xRip firmware
pioneer dvd 114 rpc-1 reader
aspi 4.71
Disc 1
Burnt disc as a dvd decrypter iso(signs 4.5gb),origin was a dvd-r.Burnt at 4 speed with no probs and tested on the dvd 114 dvd rom drive, picky aiwa xd-dv370 and toshiba 220 set top players.Chapter skip and fast search were flawless and disc played solidly to the end of disc.
Disc 2
Burnt disc as a recordmax now data dvd without the wizard on the fly from my dvd 114 drive at 4 speed.Disc backed up was triple X again on dvd-r.
Disc copied in 15 mins with no buffer underflow and no errors.Tested on dvd 114 dvd rom drive, picky aiwa xd-dv370 and toshiba 220 set top players.
Again chapter and fast search were fine with no play back probs all the way through the disc.
Conclusion
Dye looks very similar to the datasafe grey 2 speed discs and quality looks pretty darn good.If Bulkpac can keep this quality up there is no need to look toward the more expensive discs as these are very good thus far.
For dvd video these get the big thumbs up unless future production runs prove otherwise.

Got the discs this morning, there's a crack in the case but the discs are unharmed.
Equipment used Sony DRU-500A
LiteOn 163D
Windows XP Pro, 512MB, XP1800, Maxtor D740X 60Gig
Disc 1: Firmware 1.0g - DVD Movie - Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets.
Ripped: DVD Decryptor
Re-authored: DVD2ONE
Burned: RecordNow Max
Even tough the disc was reported as being burned at 4x it still took approx 60 mins to burn it. The same image only took only approx 30 mins with my 2x Ritek discs.
The movie played without problems in the
LiteOn 163d f/w GHR8
Arianet DVD-2255 player
Sony PS2 V7 magic 2
Disc 2 Firmware 2.0f - PS2 Game - Grand Theft Auto 3
Ripped and then image burned with Nero 5.5.10.7.
Again, it was reported as being burned at 4x but took 52 mins to burn the 4482mb image.
Played without any problems in a PS2 V7 Magic 2
Conclusion:
It appears that these discs will only burn at 1x with my setup. I have been using Ritek discs for some time, these burn at times that I would expect for the speed of the disc being used i.e. 2x = approx 30mins & 4x = approx 15mins for a full movie.
For the moment I would have to continue buying Ritek.

Thanks again to disQworld and Bulkpaq for the disks, like Cash, mine arrived in a broken jewel case, but disks were in excellent condition
PC Spec:
XP2000+ Athlon
1.5Gb DDR Memory
120Gb HD
Pioneer A05 with 1.21
Software:
RecordNow Max 4.5
Players:
UMAX Yamada DVD player
PS2
Disk 1:
Burnt a backup of Splinter Cell PS2 at 4x, from image on HD, took around 13 mins. Bulkpaq booted up 1st time and no skipping during any movie/FMV sequences. Played flawlessly for over an hour. Very impressed.
Disk 2:
Burnt a movie image of Gone in 60 seconds (from my HD) at 4x again. Played flawlessly on my yamada, no skipping on any fast moving sequences. Had a few problems playing in my PS2, started skipping on some of the fast moving sequences. Not bad for movies, if you're not gonna use them in a PS2
Overall:
I'd buy a few of these disks and test them further. But for cheap 4x media I was very impressed and hope Bulkpaq continue their good work.
